You want the day to be perfect! Perfect it was. Last September under the bluest sky ever my brother and his new wife were wed. It was a beautiful Colorado fall day. The aspens were yellow and stark against the otherwise brown and green landscape and the weather was just the right temperature.

With the fall background and the bride asking for rich jewel tones I went to work creating flowers that wouldn’t compete with the natural beauty of Snow Mountain Ranch, but would provide an accent. Accent they did. Megan didn’t have too many requirements other than design that fit with the location. I went to town grabbing flowers that are only in season once a year and also had the freedom to pull in very unique elements like wheat, pinecones and dried grasses. It was a florists dream to have total trust and freedom.

Megan’s bouquet was so fun to design. It had black magic roses, magenta dahlias, bright green dianthus, mambo spray roses, mums, scabiosa, solidago and grasses from the yard of our cabin. It was beautiful.

Such a stunning bride!

Mike and Megan were married at Snow Mountain Ranch at Columbine Point. If you’re looking for mountains, water and amazing views, this is your place! Their staff is wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable. Megan had the worlds longest aisle and working out the timing of her walk down with Dad presented some interesting challenges I hadn’t run into before. Megan and Mike chose not to have music at their ceremony which was a little scary to commit to at first but in hindsite the scenery was all anyone needed. Stunning.

When I say she had a long walk, I’m not joking. Their ceremony took place under that cross:

Thier ceremony was performed by our Aunt, Sandy, she was our officiant as well. The ceremony was wonderful, lots of happy tears as she recounted stories from their youth and courtship. If you’re in Colorado and open to non-religious ceremony I highly recommend having someone that knows you marry you. It brings a whole different level of meaningful and memorable to the wedding ceremony. You can also be sure that your ceremony will be unique.

The kiss that sealed the deal.

More beautiful photos to come! Stay tuned!
